What is the difference between coaching and therapy?
This is one of the most common questions clients have. While there is no perfect answer here, when you break it down coaching addresses a situational issue and therapy addresses a diagnostic issue. This might be things like relationship dissatisfaction, job dissatisfaction, lack of a sense of purpose or what your next step is, etc. While coaching does take into account how the accumulation of our life experiences have impacted us, we focus much more on the here and now and what actionable steps you can start taking to reach the positive changes in your life you deserve to have. As your coach, I will be supportive while also encouraging you to be accountable to yourself and to feel a sense of empowerment as you move through this conscious journey.
Another benefit of coaching that clients tend to enjoy is that it typically involves more structured and intensive steps that I will help guide you through which leads to an accelerated path in reaching your goals. While therapy typically involves attending weekly or biweekly sessions for 50 minutes, and limited access to the therapist in between sessions, coaching also allows for more direct feedback and guidance throughout the week through a variety of means that I offer to you.
Coaching services entail one 50 minute video call and one form of in-between session support. This can include communicating on voxer, review of a journal entry, and guidance through email on a problem you may be facing that week.
